Plus you can't search yet easily in a folder. It loads somewhere in a server memory all the google drive files, before adding new ones. But I hit another problem : Google drive folders are not folders like in your pc but labels (see It can take ages when you want to upload such many thousands files in Google Drive. ! My next goal is to convert my html files in txt so I can do searches on it inside google drive. If you have millions of small files (html plus their related gif etc files.) it may very difficult (it creates easily orphaned files without telling about it. In fact it displays the html code only !! This is strange as gmail can do so properly without images when you send a joined html file in an email ! you have to wait a few seconds for the UI to preview or open the file. So you have to open each files to see if it is the document you were looking for ! doesn't display small extracts of the files (like we see when we do a keyword search in ). In reality I stay closer to less than 20 MB for xls files. may not be able to open very large xls files (note: I already created Google Drive Sheets close to the 2,000,000 cells limit but it consumed close to the 2Go RAM limit of Firefox 32Bits !). index only the first million characters of any file ( ) index only the first 100 pages of pdf files - But if you open a 1000 pages pdf files and do a keyword search in it, it will find the keyword ! There, it also does index the content of the files with some limits : for instance : I have also uploaded my data in Google Drive (see my experiments here ). In fact after watching some videos about it, I won't try it will try it even if I don't use regex for searching keywords, and because the interface seems not very enough user friendly (I don't want to click many times just to do a keyword search !).ġ bis) For keyword search in files content - online in the cloud Price seems high $200 but X1 is $50 +$25 each year. so my guess is that the index will be bigger than with CDS or X1). Dtsearch index size seems to be 15% the size of the indexed content. I haven't tested dtsearch yet (so I don't know if it is better/faster. I let it finish the indexing and moved back to the SSD where the index size is again the normal size (52Go)! Now I need to test extensively to see if everything is ok with X1 ! I'll try to update again about it here ! X1 was stuck and then suddenly it started to use twice the same amount of the size index ! Grrr I moved the index on another HDD from a SSD. In my case with the same computer and the same data content (about 2,000,000 files) to be indexed, X1 did it in 10 days (5 days less than CDS V3.6) and the size of the index is 52 Go (less 33Go than CDS) ! See edits above! Note : I had some strange problems yesterday. I have tried 3 times to re-index and the last time it found alone some yearly folders that it had missed the first time ! I have still some yearly subfolders not indexed ! I need to try to find why ! Edit2: I have tried several thing but it won't index some eml files ! I also checked and discovered that some subfolders were not indexed even if X1 says all the index is up to date. edit1: Apparently I have some locally saved email (.eml) that were not indexed. So far speed of indexing and size of the index seems to be about the same. I still haven't finished indexing all my contents (mainly xls doc ppt mdb csv zip pdf eml msg files) with X1. It took about 15 days to complete 24/24 7/7. With CDS V3.6 size of the index was 85 Go with about 2,000,000 files indexed ( Note: In one hdd drive I even hit the NTFS limit : too much files to handle ! edit: see ). The only problem I had is that it doesn't display correctly accents in the preview pane html files (see ). So far I quite happy overall especially since it displays faster in the preview pane xls, pdf and html files. Apparently they changed the full code of their program around 2010 which I have missed!). Now I am testing X1 Search V8 for the last 10 days (I remember having tested unsuccessfully X1 when it was with yahoo. And 50% coupon when a new version was released)! Note when V3 was released years ago, I remember that I had to wait one year so that it was not buggy ! Well, I don't think I can say they care about their customers (note: it costs a one time fee of about $50. I have bought their V4 more than one year ago but even recently it was too buggy for me. A month ago I was still using their V3.7 released a long time ago. I was using Copernic Desktop Search (CDS) for years (since V2 I think). It may be better to read it again in full !ġ) For keyword search in files content - Locally on my PC I have updated several contents of this post. Because of this, virtually every town in Alaska has an airport. This leads to many towns with no roads leading to them, which are only accessible by airplane (although many coastal villages are also accessible by ship, they nonetheless do not contain any roads accessible by the rest of North America). Due to the small population combined with the large area of the state, much of which is wilderness, most of Alaska is both uninhabited and almost entirely undeveloped. Its central theme is identity and how a teenager finds his own as he goes from a hesitant introvert to the leader of a close-knit group of friends whose identities he's helped find. The one thing the game does very well is replicate the day-to-day feeling and rhythm of being a Japanese teenager in school, then breaking up the mundane parts of the life simulation with escapist fantasies like fighting demons and becoming a superhero sleuthing gang. All this is tied to the life lessons the hero – your proxy – would learn to become a fully socialised, functional member of society with friends and emotional ties, which also become the hero's greatest strength and the solving of the murders is the culmination of his emotional maturation over the course of the story's year. The demons the hero and his friends have to overcome at first are Jungian representations of their own dark sides and emotional problems like low self-esteem and depression, then save other people from their demons. Its gameplay design was on the surface the usual RPG of levelling up skills and abilities to combat demons, but they were presented as metaphors for psychological health and life lessons to build up social skills. Persona 4 is a game designed to be last tens, if not hundreds of hours and always had the air of a life lesson game about it. It's the typical superhero narrative for teens. The hero and his friends become a Scooby Gang to solve the mystery in both real life and The Midnight Channel, and during the course of his year in the country, become more confident and self-assured as he learns to care for people and save them. Back in real life, they discover that a series of murders in the town are linked to The Midnight Channel, and the victims were dragged in and killed there. There they can turn aspects of their personas into tangible warriors to fight demons that represent the dark sides of the human psyche, including their own dark sides and emotional flaws they have to overcome, after which they use their new powers to save other people who have been sucked into The Midnight Channel. He and his friends can access an alternate dimension called The Midnight Channel via a TV screen. During that year, he goes to school, makes friends and discovers an urban legend is real. The hero is a teenager sent to live with his uncle in a small town for a year while his parents are abroad. A sight-word vocabulary refers to the pool of words a student can effortlessly recognize. These hybrid ghosts, discussed more in the "Ghosts" section, have unique special abilities, are twice the size of the normal ghosts, and are worth double points if eaten. The major difference is the inclusion of the new ghost Kinky, which can combine with other ghosts to form more powerful morphs. This game, unlike the original Pac-Man, includes plenty of bonus features that make it stand apart. Items (see Items section below) are usually worth 1000 points, with the exception of the yellow pill, worth 100. Mutated ghosts are worth double the points above. Since this game features more than four ghosts, it is also possible to consume a fifth blue ghost for 3200 points and, on rare occasions, another one for 7650. The next one is 400, then 800, then 1600. The first blue ghost eaten after Pac-Man consumes the Power Pellet is worth 200 points. After Pac-Man munches a Power Pellet, the ghosts will-as in all Pac-Man games-switch direction, turn blue, and become vulnerable to Pac-Man. The player with the most points wins over the other player.Įach Pac-Dot is worth 10 points (except for the ones placed by Crybaby, which are worth 20). At the end of each level, scores for each player are counted up. In the arcade version, if one player is playing and another player inserts a coin (unless free play is selected in the game options) and presses the 2P Start button, Player 2 will spawn a green Pac-Man that will play alongside Player 1. There are 6 worlds, numbering 0–5, and 23 rounds total. Like the original Pac-Man, Pac-Man Arrangement is a maze game in which the objective is to clear all Pac-Dots on the board by eating them and avoiding hazardous contact with the ghosts that also inhabit the maze. Mexico ultimately rejected the proposal due to internal instability and as it was very unlikely that it would defeat the US in a war. Aware that America could enter the war following the approach of unrestricted German submarine warfare, Germany wanted to keep America and its resources occupied long enough with a war with Mexico so that it could weaken and defeat Britain. The reason it was sent was to divert American attention and support from Europe. In the telegram he proposed an alliance between Germany and Mexico that could help Germany win the war and Mexico to regain territories previously lost to the USA: the US states of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. The Zimmermann Telegram was a coded message sent by the German Foreign Minister, Arthur Zimmermann, to the German Ambassador to Mexico, Heinrich von Eckardt. However the Zimmermann Telegram also played a key role in US participation. The Germans knew this could encourage American participation in the war, and they hoped they could weaken Britain fast enough that any American response would be too late. In January 1917 Germany decided to re-launch unrestricted submarine warfare, hoping to restrict food supplies in to Britain and leading to its surrender. Still, President Wilson managed to stay neutral as Germany agreed to limit the damage from such attacks, although this did not last. Other liners were also attacked by German forces. The sinking of the Lusitania killed 1,198 civilians, including 129 Americans. The first event that angered many Americans was Germany’s attack of the British liner RMS Lusitania in 1915. And there was encouragement from the Triple Entente, who wanted the US to join the war against the Triple Alliance of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. However, several events made it difficult for President Wilson to stay neutral. The position of neutrality in World War One was the platform that then-president Woodrow Wilson used to win re-election in November 1916, and he was determined to stand by it. And while some more Anglophile groups were more inclined to back the Triple Entente of Britain, France, and Russia, many Americans wanted the US to remain neutral. Until 1917, the US had remained officially neutral in World War I. |
